Travis Chambers

Travis Chambers is the Vice President of People Services at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers headquartered in Columbus, Georgia.

Travis joined the Goodwill Southern Rivers organization in February 2018 with over 25 years of experience in human resources. Travis has extensive expertise in a variety of strategic disciplines such as budgeting, marketing, and project management. With a rich history spanning various leadership roles, his career has been characterized by a deep commitment to human resources and corporate strategy.

His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Albany State University and a Master of Art in Human Resources Management from Troy State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbus and Leadership Georgia, where he served on the board of trustees.

Before joining the GoodwillSR team, Travis served in pivotal roles at Synovus Financial Corp, showcasing his strategic knowledge and leadership in human resources. As the human resources manager and later the vice president of career resources, he implemented effective HR practices that aligned with key business objectives. Travis played a crucial role in staffing, talent management, and regulatory compliance. He was instrumental in developing innovative strategies to attract quality candidates, manage complex employee relations issues, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Throughout his career, Travis has received numerous awards and recognitions including the 2012 Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. His commitment to community involvement is highlighted by active participation in boards including the Columbus Library Foundation and Columbus Technical College Board of Directors. He is also a current board member of the Columbus Development Authority.
